It’s not a mask that makes a man a hero.
This artwork was one of my first steps in digital illustration.
It might seem simple but looking at it today I realize how many lessons I’ve learnt in the process: from how to create seamless patterns and use the pen tool to how to trace images and work with multiple layers.
I remember coming up with the quote, cutting an old T-shirt to make a mask and asking my best friend, Max, to take a photo of my hands. It obviously wasn’t the easiest way but in the end I’m glad I didn’t cut corners.
After all, it wasn’t about creating a quick piece but learning my craft.
Who would have thought that years later I would recycle that illustration for my personal website. So, yeah – please recycle.
